About Manasquan Inlet
Manasquan Inlet is the Sebastian of the North—a jetty break that can produce legitimate barrels on the right swell. When solid south or east swells hit the Jersey Shore, the waves bounce off the rocks and wedge into steep, powerful rights. The inlet has been a center of New Jersey surf culture since the 1960s, hosting generations of dedicated cold-water chargers. On hurricane swells, Manasquan can hold waves up to 20 feet, making it one of the few East Coast spots that handles serious size. The rip along the jetty makes for easy paddle-outs but demands respect.
